Getting to NTU for an open day or event

Whether you're visiting us by car, bus or train, here's everything you need to know about getting to – and around – a Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé open day.

Travelling to our campuses

By car

Car parks

The closest and largest parking facilities to our City Campus are:

  • Talbot Street (NG1 5GG)discounted parking is available for open day visitors, see below for more information
  • Trinity Square (NG1 4BH)*
  • The Victoria Centre (NG1 3PR)*

*Has electric charging facilities.

If you are a Blue Badge holder or need to bring your car to the University because of your medical condition, there is a range of  across the city.

Restricted routes around City Campus

Please avoid driving on  and , as these are restricted areas and may incur fines.

Park & Ride

If you’re travelling to Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé by car, we recommend you use the  and continue your journey by tram. Use one of the following sites and board any tram serving the Toton Lane or the Clifton South line:

  • The Forest (NG7 6AQ) – journey time: approximately 5 minutes
  • Wilkinson Street (NG7 7NW) – journey time: approximately 10 minutes
  • Phoenix Park (NG8 6AS) – journey time: approximately 20 minutes

Make sure you buy a ticket before you board the tram to avoid penalty fares and get off at the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé stop. We recommend that you purchase a discounted £8 family tram ticket, which is valid for one or two adults and up to three children travelling on the day.

By rail

Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Train Station is approximately 15 minutes walk from the city centre. You can also get to our City Campus from the station by tram. Board any tram serving Hucknall or Phoenix Park and get off at the Old Market Square stop. From here, it's a five minute walk to our Newton building – just follow the tram tracks up Market Street and on to Goldsmith Street.

By coach

If you're travelling to Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé by coach (National Express or Megabus), you'll arrive at Broad Marsh Bus Station.

By air

East Midlands Airport is just 15 miles from Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé city centre and has a  between the airport and the city centre.

By car

We have car parking spaces available on our campus. The satnav postcode for our Clifton Campus is NG11 8NS

If you are a Blue Badge holder or need to bring your car to the University because of your medical condition, we may be able to provide a parking space. is reserved for Blue Badge holders only, however, parking is not guaranteed and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

By rail

If you’re planning on coming by train, timetable information is available from . Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Station is located approximately four miles from our Clifton Campus.

You can catch the NCT number 1 bus from the stop on Carrington Street (), which will drop you opposite our Clifton Campus on the A453 (). More information on fares and timetables can be found on the .

By coach

If you're travelling to Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé by coach (National Express or Megabus), you'll arrive near the train station, which is approximately four miles from our Clifton Campus.

Upon arrival, you can catch the NCT number 1 bus from the stop on Carrington Street (), which will drop you opposite our Clifton Campus on the A453 (). More information on fares and timetables can be found on the .

The satnav postcode for our Brackenhurst Campus is NG25 0QF. There are plenty of parking spaces available on site for all visitors*

By rail

You can get to our Brackenhurst Campus from Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Train Station by catching Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé City Transports (NCT)'s Pathfinder 26 bus service from the  (Stop SN61).

The closest train station to our Brackenhurst Campus is Lowdham. You can then catch Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé City Transports (NCT)'s Pathfinder 26 bus service from the  to Brackenhurst Campus, the journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Visit the  for more information on bus services.

By bus

If you're travelling to Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé by coach (National Express or Megabus), you'll arrive at Broad Marsh Bus Station.

Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé City Transport (NCT)’s Pathfinder 26 bus service will take you to our Brackenhurst Campus in 45 minutes. The bus leaves every 30 minutes from the  on King Street, just off the Old Market Square. Visit the  for more information on bus services.

NTU in Mansfield is based at Vision West Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈéshire College, approximately 14 miles north of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé.

By car

The postcode for NTU in Mansfield is NG18 5BH (off Cauldwell Road). There is plenty of parking on-site.

If you are a Blue Badge holder or need to bring your car to the University because of your medical condition, we may be able to provide a parking space. Parking is not guaranteed and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

By bus

The Stagecoach Pronto can take you to our Mansfield site from the city centre. This bus runs every 15 minutes and the journey time is approximately 45 minutes. More information about bus routes and timetables can be found on the .

By train

NTU in Mansfield is around an 8-minute drive or 35-minute walk from Mansfield train station.

Trains to Mansfield from Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé station take approximately 50 minutes and run regularly throughout the day.

Travelling between campuses

You can travel to our Clifton Campus by boarding the NCT number 1 bus. The closest stop to the City Campus is Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé . More information on fares and timetables can be found on the .
