Based on your open day booking, you're visiting our City Campus, which is right in the heart of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé city centre. Our Newton building (pictured) is a key feature in the city’s skyline.
1. Check-in on arrival
Head to the Newton building to check-in, grab a printed copy of the open day guide, find complimentary refreshments, and toilets.
2. Enjoy a warm welcome
Kick-start your day at our welcome talk to discover why NTU is such an incredible place to study.
Newton building: Lecture Theatre 2 at 9.15 – 10 am and repeated from 10 – 10.45 am.
3. Get to know your subject
We recommend that you plan the rest of your day around your subject talk and related activities.

4. Take a campus tour
Take a student-led tour of our City Campus and facilities.
Tours take around 45 minutes and give you the chance to ask our current students about their experience of life at NTU.
5. View accommodation
Visit City Campus halls of residence between 9 am – 3 pm to explore the accommodation options.
Our Student Accommodation Services team will be available to help you find your new home.
6. Hear from our current students
Join us in our 'What I wish I'd known when I started at NTU' talk where our student ambassadors will share their insights and practical tips to help you settle in, get involved, and thrive at NTU.

Shuttle buses will run between Dryden Street and Beck Street every 20 minutes, from 8.40 am to 3 pm.

Open day travel discount
Discounted travel offers are available to all NTU open day visitors.
We recommend you arrive early to fully enjoy our open day and plan ahead to make the most of your visit. If you have any access requirements please email enquiries@ntu.ac.uk ahead of your visit so that we can put suitable provisions in place.

Car parks
The closest and largest parking facilities to our City Campus are:
- Talbot Street (NG1 5GG)* discounted parking is available for visitors, see below for more information
- Trinity Square (NG1 4BH)*
- The Victoria Centre (NG1 3PR)*

If you are a Blue Badge holder or need to bring your car to the University because of your medical condition, there is a range of across the city.
Restricted routes around City Campus
Please avoid driving on and , as these are restricted areas and may incur fines.
Park & Ride
If you’re travelling to Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé by car, we recommend you use the and continue your journey by tram. Use one of the following sites and board any tram serving the Toton Lane or the Clifton South line:
- The Forest (NG7 6AQ) – journey time: approximately 5 minutes
- Wilkinson Street (NG7 7NW) – journey time: approximately 10 minutes
- Phoenix Park (NG8 6AS) – journey time: approximately 20 minutes
Make sure you buy a ticket before you board the tram to avoid penalty fares and get off at the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé stop. We recommend that you purchase a discounted £8 family tram ticket, which is valid for one or two adults and up to three children travelling on the day.
If you're travelling to Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé by coach (National Express or Megabus), you'll arrive at Broad Marsh Bus Station.

Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Train Station is approximately 15 minutes walk from the city centre. You can also get to our City Campus from the station by tram. Board any tram serving Hucknall or Phoenix Park and get off at the Old Market Square stop. From here, it's a five minute walk to our Newton building – just follow the tram tracks up Market Street and on to Goldsmith Street.
East Midlands Airport is just 15 miles from Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé city centre and has a between the airport and the city centre.
