BUCS Weekly Review - Winning streaks continue for Gaelic Football and American Football
30 November 2023
A chilly BUCS Wednesday in the Midlands yesterday with lots of outdoor fixtures having to be postponed due to frozen pitches. But lots of teams wrapping up their term 1 campaigns with only 1 final full week of fixtures to go.

Before the cold snap hit, Gaelic Football have nearly secured their Tier 1 league title for the second year running over the weekend, beating University of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé 25-10 and making it 4 wins out of 4 games.
In a top of the league clash, American Football fought hard to beat Warwick 7-14, also making it 4 wins out of 4 and are now at the halfway point of their league season.
Last night over in Loughborough, Men’s Basketball came back from 20 points down to beat Loughborough 1st team 93-100! An amazing result for this team, meaning there are now 3 teams tied at the top of Prem North – all to play for in term 2!
Another top of the league clash, one of our featured matches of the week Men’s Tennis beat Oxford 1st team 6-0. This takes them 9 points clear in Tier 1 with 4 games to go, a strong campaign to get them promoted back into Prem North. Women’s Tennis had a slightly tougher day playing University of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé 3rd team, having only just been promoted into Tier 1 this season.
Of the Rugby that did manage to go ahead yesterday, there were some strong results for the teams in pink. Men’s and Women’s 1st teams both took wins over Birmingham 1s and 2s respectively. Men’s 4th team also beat Oxford Brookes 3s 40-12, and Men’s 6th (our Brackenhurst-based team) took their 4th consecutive win over UCB 1s, putting them 10 points clear at the top of the league!
Good luck to all our teams in action this weekend, we're sure you'll continue to make us #ProudtobePink!
