More about Claudia

Tell us why you chose to study at NTU/Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School (NBS), and any key features which may have influenced your decision. What set us apart?

I knew I didn’t want to go to university in a traditional sense, so I didn’t think that I would ever earn a degree. Being able to work towards one, whilst working full time really appealed to me and my learning style. It meant I could continue progressing in my role at a digital marketing agency, whilst developing my knowledge.

What did you learn as a Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School student – both inside and outside of lectures?

There were only six of us in my cohort, so we became really close. A lot of our learning was during the pandemic and we really relied on each other for support and guidance, the ups and downs definitely brought us closer together. Looking back, I am so grateful to have gone through the experience together, and to have come through the other side with five wonderful friends!

What does your current day involve?

Day-to-day my role at Warbox consists of working with our clients on their creative and digital strategies, and collaborating with our fantastic designers, and developers on activation. From branding, identity, graphic design, or web, it’s really varied. I also get to work closely with sister agency, . This is an added bonus.

How has your experience studying at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School helped you in your current role?

Whatever your field of work, or the educational route you’ve chosen, deadlines will always be there, and time management skills are one of the main things I developed whilst studying at NTU. This helps me massively when juggling priorities and deadlines. Anyone who works in an agency will know that last-minute jobs will always crop-up, and you’ve got to be able to manage that.

What attracted you to this field of work?

I was drawn towards a role in client services because I love bridging the gap between clients and agencies, especially for digital projects. I also find the local/global aspect of Warbox’s work really exciting. I wanted to be a part of a team that was passionate about producing amazing creative and digital work that they were proud of, for regional, and international clients.

What challenges have you faced?

There was definitely a point, around the start of final year, where everything just felt too much. My day-to-day work responsibilities had increased a lot, and there were countless upcoming University deadlines. I remember feeling as though everything had come to a halt and there was a feeling of ‘Wait…what am I going to do here?’. I realised that it was important to give myself the help I needed and that ‘future me’ would thank me for it! That realisation of being kinder to myself and more respectful of upcoming goals, and how they aligned with my time, was invaluable.

What have been the highlights and biggest challenges of your career so far?

A recent highlight has definitely been starting my role at Warbox. I felt drawn to the culture, values and amazing teams at both Warbox and Tank. I’ve had such a positive experience joining and settling in, everyone’s made me feel welcome and I’m really looking forward to what’s to come!

Challenges will crop up from time-to-time, but I think the most consistent challenge I’ve faced is down to my own confidence. It’s hard to shake that feeling of imposter syndrome, and it’s something everybody feels - but it really can have an impact day-to-day! It definitely helps when you’re surrounded by a great team, and you feel supported in your role, so I feel very lucky to have that.

What are your plans for the future?

I’d love to continue on with the client services side of things, with a focus on digital.

If you had a time machine, what would you go back and tell yourself at University?

Sounds so cliche, but just that it will work out! There were so many times throughout my time at NTU that I genuinely believed I wouldn’t be able to do it. It’s so strange, when you’re in the middle of that mindset, you think that those feelings of anxiety and panic will never ease and as if time will standstill, but they do and it doesn’t! I would have enjoyed the process so much more if I’d have just reminded myself that I was there to learn, and even though it was really tough I would get through it.
