More about Chikondi

"I previously worked for 8 years at the Reserve Bank of Malawi. The bank identified certain gaps in finance sector and offered me a scholarship to pursue an MSc Finance qualification at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School. If you want to be the best you learn from the best. Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé has one of best Business School’s in the country based on its sterling reputation in the field of finance. I was especially impressed with breadth of the courses, especially the financial modelling, risk management and mergers & acquisitions modules.

Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School

"The MSc Finance course structure is extremely robust and it will not only enhance someone’s skills but it will develop students into experts in the field of finance. I am looking for more responsibility in a senior management role where I can apply the skills learnt from Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School.

"I also want to become an entrepreneur in the transportation business (improving transportation links in Malawi based on the transportation system I have seen here in Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé). I have been participating in the Institute of Directors Entrepreneurship club here at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School and this allowed me to interact with fellow entrepreneurs and helped me develop skills on starting my own business.

"Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School brings in key speakers for you to mix with and learn from. The speakers impart knowledge and act as mentors for those who want to start their own business. I am also involved in the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Toastmasters’ club. This has helped me to develop my public speaking, communication and leadership skills. I hadn’t done this before I came to Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Trent university.

Thinkubator Challenge

"Thinkubator challenge has also developed my team working, analytical and problem solving skills. In the Thinkubator Challenge, companies come with issues and students work in teams to solve those real life issues. The lectures and professors are professionals in their field. Their doors are always open and this encouraged me to build a strong relationship with my lecturers and definitely helped me to achieve good grades. The classes also have a lot of interaction and this makes it easier and a more fun environment to learn in.

Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé

"The university is at the heart of the city and you have easy and close access to shops, health services and accommodation; everything is nearby. I have visited Oxford, Manchester as Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé has accessible and great transport links to the rest of the country, including London. In addition, I found it very easy to find accommodation both managed by the university and in the private sector.

Facilities

"NTU has excellent facilities, especially the new Boots library. The classrooms all have computers and the dedicated trading room is a great facility which will help me in my future management position when I go back to work in Malawi. I would encourage students to come to NTU because it is a home away from home.

Consultancy Project and Global Week

"In addition, the applied consultancy project was a big attraction to me. The chance to put all the lessons and theories into practice was fantastic. My greatest achievement at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School was representing my country Malawi during the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Global Week. As part of the Global Week, I had my own stall teaching people about Malawi, its politics, culture, food, landscapes and traditional dances."
