Expand your knowledge and strengthen your skills through our range of online courses and software, at a time that suits you.

Alongside online resources, all NLS students will also have access to our Employability Team where one-to-one support, both in-person and online, is on offer to help you with job applications and career planning.

Make your experience at NLS count and boost your employability with the . This flexible award encompasses all that you do as a student whilst at university (both intra and extra-curricular). Achieve certificates by setting yourself goals, completing activities and reflecting on your personal development.

Wellbeing & Psychological Resilience Course

The Finding Peace in a Frantic World mindfulness course will be available to students in Term 1.

The course is in collaboration with colleagues in Psychology to offer two versions of this course. Students will be randomly allocated.

Learning outcomes

By attending these courses, students will gain insights and practices that will foster:

  • Greater psychological resilience
  • The ability to reduce stress, worry and anxiety
  • Ways of being more grounded and at peace
  • Greater compassion, for self and others

Teaching team

Paulo Karat

Paulo teaches on the LPC and SQE programmes, and delivers mindfulness courses to NTU students as part of his research work with colleagues in NTU Psychology.

Bryony Harper

Bryony lectures in Counselling and Psychological Therapies at NTU and is a qualified and accredited counsellor with a keen interest in mindfulness.
