You will take study visits throughout your course and have the opportunity to complete work placements with companies across the food industry. To enhance your learning further, we will encourage you to take part in competitions at home and abroad. For example, FdSc Artisan Food Production student Jordan Young, won Worshipful Company of Bakers 'Young Baker of the Year'.

Our courses are jointly delivered with The School of Artisan Food, based on the Welbeck Estate in north Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈéshire, so you'll have access to all the facilities that other students do at Brackenhurst Campus, and much more.

Food laboratories

At Brackenhurst Campus, you will work with industry-standard tools and technology in our specialist food-processing, chemistry and microbiology laboratories.

The School of Artisan Food – Welbeck Estate

Welbeck’s training rooms are professionally equipped for the teaching of bread making, cheesemaking, butchery and charcuterie. You will develop your practical expertise in producing high-quality artisan food products, as well as learning how to develop and grow an artisan food business in today’s competitive market.
