Role
In Melanie’s current role at NTU Sport she oversees the teams providing support services for NTU’s talented athletes, including performance lifestyle coaching, sport psychology, sports nutrition and administration for the sport scholarship programme. Additionally, she leads on NTU's dual career accreditation and academic flexibility policy, ensuring NTU’s sport scholars manage the competing demands of their academic and sporting commitments. Melanie is also NTU Sport’s joint TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) lead supporting external dual-career students through the programme.
Career overview
Melanie began her career in advertising running commercial sales teams before making the switch into sport later in her career. She has run the sport scholarship programme at NTU for six years having previously held roles at the UK Institute of Sport working with Olympic and Paralympic sporting programmes and providing sport psychology consultancy to various clients. Melanie holds an undergraduate degree in psychology, a master’s degree in sport & exercise psychology and a level three qualification in talented athlete support.
External activity
Melanie is currently undertaking an apprenticeship in senior leadership alongside her role, studying for a Master’s in Business Administration at NTU.
