Role
Since joining NTU in 2012, Daniel has worked across all aspects of the men’s and women’s football and futsal programs to evolve them into one of the largest and most successful in the UK. He is responsible for the recruitment and development of student athletes in both football and futsal, along with the management of the coaching staff and support services provision, and directly leads on the coaching for the Women’s Football 1st Team
Career overview
Since graduating from University of Manchester in 2005 with a degree in History, Daniel has worked as a football coach for the past twenty years, initially as a School Development Officer for Derby County Community Trust, overseeing the delivery of sport coaching and physical education to school children across Derbyshire. In 2012 he undertook his initial role at NTU, establishing the thriving internal Football Leagues at the university and overseeing multiple sport clubs, ranging from Ice Hockey to Wheelchair Basketball, prior to become the lead for the Women’s Football program in 2018 and becoming Head of Football in 2024. Away from NTU he has also worked as an FA Tutor for their Level 1 & Level 2 coaching awards, as well as currently being a TASS practitioner and a UKAD Educator.
External activity
For the past five years Daniel has also been a 1st Team Coach at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Forest Women in the Women's National League, having previously worked at Leicester City and Derby County as a Head Coach in their Regional Talent Centres and as the Technical Director for Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Forest’s Girls program. He is currently completing his UEFA ‘A’ License, holds the FA Youth Award and is also a coach for the English Universities Women’s Football squad as well.
