Senior Lecturer in Criminology
Natasha Chubbock is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and currently teaches on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, with a key focus on: Policing; Organised and Professional Crimes; and Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Criminal Justice. She also has the role as dissertation tutor for the BA (Hons) Criminology course and is a member of the Social sciences ‘School Academic Irregularity Panel’ group.
Career overview
Before NTU, Natasha worked as a Fines Enforcement Officer for Leicestershire Magistrates Court Committee aswell as conducting a short-term crime research project for Rushcliffe Borough Council. Before her current role at NTU she had previously worked for Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Law School as the Research Assistant for the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Criminal Trials Project (run by Professors Ralph Henham & Mark Findlay). She was also a former Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Criminology and co-creator (with Dr James Hunter) of the current undergraduate criminology course.
Research areas
Natasha has conducted research in collaboration with Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈéshire Probation Service, evaluating staff use of the OASys risk assessment tool (co-researcher with Dr Paul Sparrow and Ms Andrea Lyons-Lewis). She is now undertaking part-time PhD research: ‘The RSPCA as a Contemporary Plural Policing Agency’ (Director of Studies = Professor Simon Holdaway).
External activity
Natasha has acted as a consultant to Kaplan Open Learning on Criminal Justice teaching provisions.
