Dr Zahra Rahemtulla is a Research Fellow in the Department of Sports Science and a member of the Human Movement Analysis Research Group at NTU.
Career overview
Dr Zahra Rahemtulla received her BSc in Physics from the University of Leeds in 2013 and subsequently a MSc by Research in Medical Imaging from the University of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé in 2015. She completed her Ph.D. in the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé School of Art and Design at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé where she has developed a textile-based fall detection system.
Research areas
Dr Zahra’s research has focused on using on using co-design methods to develop electronic textiles for healthcare and wellbeing. As a multidisciplinary researcher her interests are wearable technology, design, medical technologies, healthy ageing and sensor systems. She is also committed to open research practices, including data sharing, collaboration and participatory research methods.
