Muhammad Zaheer's research centres on sustainable chemistry, renewable energy and analytical chemistry.
- Discovery Science: Discovery and development of catalytic materials through structural modulation at molecular level.
- Circular Economy Solutions: Catalytic processes for the upcycling of industrial waste, including plastics, biomass, and CO2, into valuable products.
- Hydrogen Economy: Development of next-generation catalysts for green hydrogen production (electrolysers) and storage (liquid organic hydrogen carriers OR hydrogen batteries).
- Advanced Environmental Technologies: Innovative materials (e.,g MOF based membranes) and methods for air and water purification, focusing on industrial applications.
- Environmental Monitoring: Compositional analysis of particulate matter in ambient air. Development of environmental sensors.
