Prof. Eiman Kanjo is a Professor of Pervasive Sensing & TinyML and the Head of the Smart Sensing Lab at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé.

Prof. Eiman Kanjo is a Professor of Pervasive Sensing and the head of the Smart Sensing Lab
Eiman has been appointed as the Provost's Visiting Professor in tinyML at Imperial College London starting- October 2023.
She has recently been honoured as one of the by the Women in Engineering Society.
She is also one of the academic leads of the Alan Turing Institute is UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence. .
Her team, the Smart Sensing Lab, has received the 2021 Vice-Chancellor's Outstanding Researcher Team Award under her leadership. With extensive experience, she has over 120 publications and she won several grants from various funders, including DCMS (5G Connected Forest, a £10m project in collaboration with Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé County Council and multiple industrial organizations), InnovateUK, EPSRC, DSTL, ERDF, MoD, and the Lottery Fund. Prof. Kanjo is dedicated to working closely with charities, local authorities, and industry. Eiman works closely with tinyML Foundation and currently serves on the steering committee for and Co-Lead TinyML UK. She is also an editor at
Eiman has joined leadership team as an Associate Director. HDRUK' mission is to improve the quality of health-related data and to drive forward new technologies to equip our frontline clinical staff to deliver excellent care.
Eiman has been appointed as a member of the Royal Society’s Newton Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Fellowships Committee.
Previously Prof. Kanjo worked for more than three years as a Research Associate in Mobile Sensing at the , , and also she was a member of the Cambridge eScience Centre(CeSC).
Prof. Kanjo carried out research work at the , ,, in the area of Pervasive Computing, location-based applications.
She has also worked as a researcher and developer in ICCAVE (the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Centre for Computer Games and Virtual Entertainment, University of Abertay Dundee, carrying out research work in the "Interactive Toys and Board Games project" which is sponsored by the Scottish Enterprise under the Proof of Concept Programme. Prof. Kanjo gained her PhD from the Computer Science Department, University of Abertay Dundee, UK, in the area of Pervasive and Tangible interfaces based on Computer Vision in 2005.
She also worked as a research visitor at , Graz, Austria, in Summer 2011.
