Role
Ralph was Professor of Criminal Justice from 1998-2015. He is now Emeritus Professor of Criminal Justice in the Law School and retains a role as Research Fellow.
Research areas
Ralph is a member of the Centre for Rights and Justice. He has recently completed a monograph on Sentencing Policy and Social Justice for Oxford University Press and is currently engaged in collaborative work on the sentencing of women with Professor Loraine Gelsthorpe of Cambridge University.
External activity
Ralph is joint editor of Routledge's Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé and Comparative Criminal Justice series and an Editorial Board member of the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Journal of Law, Crime and Justice. He has held visiting positions at Oxford, Cambridge, Sydney, EUI Florence, Sussex, and Washington and Lee, USA and is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
