Role

Hedley leads on Validation Service provision, monitoring and reviewing the academic standards of the provision to ensure it meets appropriate thresholds, and managing relationships with key stakeholders. Hedley supports partners with course development to ensure that courses are constructively aligned, and that assessment is inclusive. Hedley is a strong advocate of inclusive working and is a member of the University’s Shadow Executive Team (USET) which aims provides advice to the University on matters relating to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Hedley has a keen interest in how academic policy can be used as a vehicle to support NTU’s wider EDI agenda, through for example, meaningful approaches to equality impact assessments of policy.

Career overview

Since joining NTU in 2013 Hedley has worked in Academic Registry, Quality Management and Collaborations and Partnerships and is familiar with a range of academic policies, regulations and approaches. Hedley is interested in inclusive approaches to teaching, learning and assessment.
