Role
As a researcher, I develop research projects and high quality papers with various stakeholders, involving colleagues in NBS and NTU and researchers in different countries. I am looking forward to supervising projects related to business intelligence and analytics for complex industrial systems’ design, optimisation and management.
Career overview
I joined the Department of Management of the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School (NBS) in June 2023 as a Senior Research Fellow in sustainable supply chain management. Before joining NBS, I was a researcher in the School of Computer Science, at the University of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé (UoN). I worked as a core researcher in ORCHESTRA project and Clean Sky ENIGMA project funded by HORIZON EUROPE with colleagues from the School of Computer Science and the Institute for Aerospace Technology (IAT) of the UoN, as well as engineers from companies in Italy and Ireland, for the design and distribution management of energy on more-electric aircraft. I was also a key researcher contributing to the simulation and modelling of a future aviation system using hybrid-electric aircraft integrating operations of airline, airspace and airport, in the 2ZERO project funded by Innovate UK.Prior to coming to Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé, I worked as a research engineer under the CRC Open Network project funded by the French Agency for Ecological Transition in the Department of Production, Automation and Informatics at IMT Atlantique in Nantes, France. My main contribution was the design of a dynamic discretisation discovery algorithm for solving the Service Network Design and Routing Problem. This algorithm was key to the optimisation of logistics network for the development of the Internet of Things in France.I obtained my PhD in Computer Science, specialised in Operations Research from the University of Toulouse III Paul Sabatier, in Toulouse, France. I worked on the Inventory Routing Problem with explicit energy consideration as a PhD candidate in the Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture of Systems of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (LAAS-CNRS). I started my carrier as a research intern in Montreal, Canada, working on the optimisation of call centre worker scheduling in the Department of Computer Science and Operations Research in the University of Montreal.
Research areas
I have vast research interests encompassing supply chain management, transport and logistics, engineering, operations research (OR) and artificial intelligence (AI). My current work is focusing on 2 central pillars in the era of Industry 5.0. One is to develop AI for the design, optimisation and management of sustainable operations in complex systems; the other is to adapt AI to sustainably serve people working in/for these systems and prepare the society for future evolution of AI. Currently, I am working on projects related to optimisation and modelling of sustainable and resilient supply chains. I am also exploring the interaction between human and AI in various aspects such as education, governance and policy making.
External activity
I hold the membership of the following organisations:
- OR Society
- Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS)
- Société Française de Recherche Opérationnelle et d'Aide à la Décision (ROADEF)
- Association Aérospatiale Franco-Chinoise (AASFC)
My UN Sustainable Development Goals
My work is closely linked to UN SDG in different ways. My previous work on transport and logistics system optimisation contributes to sustainable cities and communities. My work related to net zero clean aviation contributes to affordable and clean energy and industry innovation and infrastructure. My current project related to AI for educational support contributes to quality education.
