Role
Scott is an Associate Professor who leads modules across across undergraduate and postgraduate levels and also supervises research students at doctoral level.
Scott is the co-author, with Professor Daniel King, of the Oxford University Press textbook Organizational Behaviour, which is the UK market-leader in its subject area. The book, which is currently in its fourth edition, draws upon his experience of designing and delivering innovative teaching materials, in particular from the undergraduate Foundations of Managing and Organising module which is taught to over 1,500 students across Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School and Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Law School. In recent editions, the book has focused on diversity issues, and post-Covid working life, as well as being at the forefront of developing e-book delivery.
Scott is involved in further areas of innovative teaching design and delivery. He has pioneered the use of active collaborative teaching methods in the BA Business Management and Human Resources degree programme, and has designed and delivered one of the core modules in the NBS online distance-learning MBA programme and has developed online blended learning material for the Digital Marketing degree apprenticeship.
Career overview
Scott has worked at NTU since 2003, and before this worked at Edge Hill University. He holds a PhD in Management and an MA in Organisational Analysis and Behaviour from Lancaster University, and a BSc in Management Science from the University of Warwick.
External activity
Since 2014, Scott has been a board member of the international scholarly and research network . He co-organised their annual conference at NTU in 2015, and, between 2020-2023 was the co-editor of their house journal
Scott has been an academic member of the since 2014, and gained their level 5 professional accreditation for the BA Business Management and Human Resources degree programme. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
