Shukri's teaching role gravitates around educating the next generation of engineers through teaching, mentoring and inspiring.
He is the Employability Manager at the Department of Engineering.
He is currently commercialising a resilient biasing device (international patent WO/2025/027292).
Career overview
Shukri is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer who holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé. He delivered fundamental and applied research during his PhD and postdoctoral period of six years at the University of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé (TRL1-6).
Shukri spent two years in the railway industry consulting in life extension of railway vehicles, validation of designs, structural integrity and crashworthiness (TRL 6-9). He joined the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in 2014 and led industrial research projects for high-value manufacturing applications (TRL 3-7).
Shukri joined Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé in 2019 to support the development of the next generation of engineers in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing & Digital Engineering. His research vision is to deliver innovative solutions and their adoption in industry through collaboration.
