Role
Nacer is a co-course leader for the BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology course. His role includes:
- Ensure high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students.
- Oversee curriculum development and ensure alignment with academic and industry standards.
- Collaborate with industry partners to enhance practical learning opportunities for students.
- Engage in research that advances knowledge in architectural technology and digital construction.
- Contribute to the development of innovative, sustainable urban environments through research and practice.
- Monitor the quality of teaching and learning within the course, ensuring that all modules meet high academic standards
- Ensure student are supported through their journey
He is also a Senior Lecturer in the BSc and MSc courses and his responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading and delivering modules in both MSc and BSc courses, such as Integrated Design and Communication, Research Project, Professional Development and Employability, and the Digital Architecture Design Studio
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, guiding students toward high-quality academic outcomes
- Conducting research in areas such as Education, Energy, digital construction, sustainability, and smart cities; publishing findings in reputable journals.
- Building and maintaining relationships with industry partners to enhance student learning and employability
- Contributing to academic committees, quality assurance processes, and program accreditation efforts
Career overview
Nacer Bezai is a qualified architect with over five years of international experience in practice, such as projects across North Africa and the Gulf region. He is currently a full-time Senior Lecturer in Architectural Technology and Co-Course Leader at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé. Since 2018, he has been actively involved in various teaching roles at the university, transitioning to his current full-time position.
Nacer holds a Master's degree in Digital Architectural Design from the University of Salford, Manchester. In 2017, he was awarded the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé, enabling him to pursue a PhD in Architecture. He completed his PhD in December 2022, focusing on urban mobility and smart cities, where he developed an urban planning framework to integrate autonomous vehicles into future cities.
