We had a total of four teams make the trip to Loughborough for BUCS Big Wednesday, here's how they got on:
NTU Hockey Women's 1st vs Loughborough Hockey Women's 2nd: 0 - 0 (2 - 3)
In a fiercely contested match yesterday, NTU Hockey Women's 1st team faced off against Loughborough Hockey Women's 2nd team, resulting in a goalless draw at the end of regular time. Both teams displayed exceptional skill and determination, with neither side able to break the deadlock. The match was ultimately decided by penalty flicks, where NTU narrowly lost 2-3.
NTU Table Tennis Men's 1st vs Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Table Tennis Men's 1st: 3 - 9
After another amazing season making the BUCS Big Wednesday finals, our Men's table tennis first team once again faced UoN in a great match. NTU's Adam Dennison was awarded player of the match after an amazing performance. But ultimately, UoN took the national title.
NTU Basketball Men's 1st vs Loughborough Basketball Men's 1st: 74 - 103
In the pinnacle of BUCS basketball, our Men's 1st team faced Loughborough Men's 1st team. NTU entered the game with high hopes of repeating their success from earlier in the season, when they'd beaten Loughborough in a home fixture at Clifton Sports Hub. However, Loughborough's strong performance led to a decisive 74 - 103 win, meaning Loughborough were crowned national champions for the sixth time out of the past seven years.
NTU Men's Lacrosse 1st vs Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Lacrosse Men's 1st: 12 - 9
Looking to finish the day strongly for the pink army, NTU Men's Lacrosse 1st team faced their UoN counterparts. NTU maintained a strong lead throughout the game, and despite a few late goals from the University of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé, our Lacrosse first team's experience in BUCS finals over recent years shone through and meant the team in pink were crowned National Champions for the third year running!
