NTU Sport are proud to congratulate Sam Patterson on his new position as Head Coach of the England Men’s Performance Squad.

In his 8 years as Head of Lacrosse at NTU Sport, Sam has been instrumental in shaping the NTU Lacrosse Programme into one of the country’s best.

Sam has taken the NTU Men’s performance squad to the BUCS National Championship final five years in a row, winning the title in both 2018 and 2023. Sam’s also overseen success with the Women’s performance squad, leading the programme to the top tier of BUCS lacrosse, and claiming the BUCS National Trophy in 2022.

We’re happy to confirm that Sam will stay on in his role as Head of Lacrosse at NTU Sport and split his time across both positions.

Everyone at NTU Sport is incredibly pleased for Sam, we can’t wait to see what he achieves in this exciting new opportunity.

I am really proud and excited to be given the opportunity to take the Men’s National Team forward and shape a program for sustained success at the international level with a great group of young players, many of which have come through our NTU performance program. I also want to thank our amazing NTU team and colleagues for their continued support in my development as a coach and leader.

Sam Patterson, Head of Lacrosse at NTU & England Lacrosse Men's Head Coach.

It is a goal I know he has been working towards for many years. His commitment to developing his athletes is as high as any coach out there across the sporting landscape and this is very well deserved. Congratulations, Sam.

Chris Campbell, Head of Performance Sport at NTU.
