Tackling the challenges of today

NTU has recently agreed a double PhD agreement with the Indian the highest ranked institution in South Asia. This University-wide, double PhD programme deepens the University’s relationship with IIT Bombay which has so far included collaboration in research and joint workshops in Precision Medicine and short-term student mobility.
One of NTU’s key collaborators at IIT Bombay, Professor Sanjeeva Srivastava, from the Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering, is a Visiting Professor at NTU and works closely with Professor Graham Ball from the School of Science and Technology. In particular, Professor Ball and Professor Srivastava have co-convened a joint workshop on Big Data and Precision Medicine at IIT Bombay, a workshop funded by the which is supported by India’s , and the , among others.
Since the signing of an MoU in June 2018, the two institutions have participated in two way short-term mobility including through NTU’s Global Summer School and have recently co-supervised two PhD students who both won a Newton Bhabha Fund grant to undertake research at NTU. Partnerships like this are pivotal in helping to grow NTU’s research capability, opening up access to world-class collaborators and facilities, and nurturing outstanding PhD students.
