During a £90 Million regeneration of the Newton and Arkwright buildings these two very different styled Grade II listed buildings were revamped and joined together.
The Newton building is home to a mixture of 10 flat-floored and tiered lecture theatres ranging from 40 delegates right up to 475 delegates. Right outside the lecture theatres is home to Level 1 & Level 0 forums which is suitable for exhibitions and catering.
Central Court which links the old and the new buildings together can host dinners for up to 300 delegates under architecturally stunning glass roof.
The Newton Tower is home to 60 teaching rooms ranging from 18 delegates up to 170 delegates all with digital screens or screens and projectors built in.
Built in 1877-81 with an elaborate Gothic design of gables, arches and pinnacles, Arkwright was originally home to University College Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé as well as the city library and a natural history museum. It was once the learning place of celebrated author D. H. Lawrence.
This building houses the beautiful Old Chemistry Theatre which can host dinners up to 110 delegates. It was also the building where, just over 100 years ago, groundbreaking work by Professor Frederic Stanley Kipping led to the discovery of silicone polymers and spawned a multibillion-pound industry.
During the summer months, Benefactors Court is the perfect location for an BBQ or a spot of early morning yoga.
