Introduction:

Please note: This course is delivered through the Enterprising Ashfield project, which is funded by the Government's Towns Fund. Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé (NTU) is pleased to offer free (fully funded) places on this course to support individuals and employees of businesses that are based in the towns of Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield.

This Carbon Management training workshop will help you to understand and embed low carbon and sustainable practices into your business operations. You will be supported to develop Carbon Management Action Plan that can reduce your costs, enhance brand reputation, meet customer demand, respond to emerging legislative changes and win new business with strong tender applications.

What you’ll study

This interactive and engaging one-day workshop will be delivered by a specialist in carbon management at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé Business School, Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé and will broadly cover the following areas:

  • Understanding the context and business case for carbon management
  • Calculating the carbon footprint for your businesses
  • Identifying carbon reduction measures and strategies
  • Developing and communicating a carbon management action plan for your business.

It’s delivered through lectures, group discussions, classroom activities and real-life examples.

By the end of this course, you'll have a practical action plan to reduce your business's carbon footprint and operational costs.

Alice Veldtman is an experienced business leader specialising in developing and implementing Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies.

Alice has over 20 years of experience in corporate social responsibility, commercial and marketing for Boots UK and recently completed an Executive MBA at Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé.

She is passionate about developing winning strategies that delight customers and deliver sustainable results across commercial, environmental and social horizons.

Entry requirements

Participants must work in a business environment, have an interest in sustainability, and possess a basic understanding of business operations.

If you don't meet these criteria, you can enroll in our Carbon Literacy course instead.

This course is available at no cost to eligible participants.

If you live or work outside the eligible postcode area, you can join our fee-paying short courses delivered on the City Campus.
