Twinmotion is a powerful real-time visualisation software, which allows for the importation of 3D assets/CAD designs to create dynamic 3D experiences, materials, weather patterns and walk through animations.

It’s part of a professional workflow within Architecture, Consumer Products, and many creative industries.

  • You’ll be part of a design community in our creative studio culture; one that promotes discussion and collaboration, and encourages experimentation and the constant swapping of ideas.
  • With a limited class size you'll have the one-to-one attention you need to ensure you leave with the skills to continue developing your designs at home or work.
  • Benefit from learning with an experienced tutor who has established links to the profession and significant experience working in varied practices.

What you’ll study

On this course you will learn the basics of Twinmotion and be introduced to modern visualisation techniques and gain an understanding of how you can incorporate real-time environments into workflows used across creative industries such as VFX, architecture, product design and fashion.

You will learn and explore various methods for creating 3D experiences, from adding textures and materials to creating effortless foliage and weather effects for 2D Rendering and motion-based animations.

By the end of the course, you will have the skills to be able to create 3D experiences in Twinmotion and have a completed project to add to your portfolio.

The course is divided into four sections.

  • Introduction to Twinmotion
  • Interface – menus, scenes, tabs
  • Using transformation tools and traversing the workspace
  • Why knowing your asset size is important.
  • Importing and manipulating objects
  • Adding assets from the library
  • Materials and textures – creating and applying digital textures
  • Applying weather and foliage
  • Rendering – setting up the camera, lighting and environment
  • 2D image renders
  • Motion based animations – walk throughs and camera movements

You will continue to create and finalise your own assets and scenes with guidance.

This is a practical course taught in person on the Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé City Campus.

Tutor profile:

Tasneem Guendouz is a 3D specialist and a Senior Immersive Media Technician at NTU, where she combines her creative and technical skills effectively. With a First Class Honours degree in Animation, she applies 3D animation principles to her work in motion capture, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and 3D environment development. Tasneem is also a part of the Virtual Poduction team, and her role is to create 3D models and build environments.

Before her current role, Tasneem worked as an Animation Technician, helping students develop their skills in 2D, 3D, and stop-motion animation. She also established a successful freelance career, teaching Maya, Unreal and Twinmotion online, furthermore collaborating on various projects both nationally and internationally.

With over four years of experience teaching Twinmotion and Unreal Engine, she is a skilled educator dedicated to fostering student growth.

Campus and facilities

You will be based in the School of Art and Design on the City Campus.

You’ll also have access to our library to use outside of your short course; whilst you can’t reserve or take away books, you are welcome to use them as a resource for research and referencing.

You will receive an email one week before the course starts with joining instructions on where to go for the first day.

Entry requirements

Level: Intermediate / Professional

Entry requirement: You should have experience of working in a creative environment, but no formal qualifications in design are required. Basic computer skills essential.

You must be over the age of 18 in order to attend this course.

Fees and funding

The fee for this course is £495.

Payment is due at the time of booking - ask us if you'd prefer an invoice sent to your company.

- If you're booking more than two months before the course starts, we can accept a £200 deposit to secure your place, and the balance is due one month before the course starts.

Your course fees cover the cost of studies and include great benefits such as the use of our modern library and free use of the IT equipment and software on the campus during your course.

Need accommodation for a week long summer course?

Accommodation can be booked separately to the course; the rooms are only a few minutes’ walk from our studios and classrooms, and cost £259 per week.

These are single rooms with a private bathroom in shared apartments in Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé’s city campus accommodation, which is ideal if you're looking to be based in Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé's lively city centre and want an economical place to stay.
