How do Primary Learning Advocates support classroom learning

Primary Learning Advocates are trained students from the University of Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé and Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé. They support literacy interventions in primary schools across Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈé City and Å·ÃÀ¾ÞÈéshire and have an enhanced DBS.

During a 10-week placement, Primary Learning Advocates support attainment raising by assisting with small group learning or providing 1:1 support to targeted pupils who are falling behind in their expected literacy level. Our students follow the guidance of teachers in the classroom and they inspire, motivate and support pupils in their learning.

Applications are now closed for 2024-25.

The Learning Advocates that I have worked with have been professional, supportive and extremely positive role models. They have given freely of their time, no task is too much and they are always cheerful and happy to help. Thank you for this - it means a lot to be able to rely on them in this capacity.
