Open to students, staff and community members, our String Sinfonia is a relaxed and friendly ensemble which meets weekly on NTU's City Campus to rehearse.

This activity is open to NTU students, staff and community members.

If you want to perform in a string ensemble, our String Sinfonia, led by musician and violin tutor Rob Rosa, is a great chance to play in a group of enthusiastic musicians.

Is there an audition? No

What experience do I need?
You should be able to play your instrument and sight read to around Grade 6 standard, but you don't need to have taken exams.

Yearly cost:

  • £20 NTU students (free for NTU Bursary holders)
  • £40 NTU staff and alumni
  • £80 community members

Drop into your first rehearsal and if you'd like to join, our music team will give you information about membership.

Need an instrument?
If you're an NTU student or staff member and would like to come along but don't have an instrument, contact the Music team to find out what's available to use or hire.
